We wanted it to be true.
We desperately wanted it to be true.
Did anyone care that we were here?
Or was the echo enough.
Instrumentation
Soprano Saxophone and Virtual Saxophones
Duration
12 minutes (approx.)
Performance Notes
The beginning should be played as though the player is figuring out what the piece should be before the "actual" piece takes place, in which the instrumentalist is no longer necessary other than being there to pretend they are the source of everything taking place. The ending the player should not try to 'act' it out, they should simply treat the piece as having finished.
Dedication
This piece is dedicated to my dear friend Richard Scholfield, an artist who constantly reminds me how whatever I write is nothing without the work of excellent players. Thank you for being a friend.
Premiere
Performed by Richard Scholfield as part of the Hadit Collective concert, "The Puff of the 15 Guniea Special" at the Flying Duck - 27th of March, 2019.
