Baguette Baton

Picture
Here is a ranking of the best supermarkets in the UK if you are wanting to get the best value for money in having a plain baguette for lunch:

Lidl - Ideal but they're a bit rarer to find on the high street. Baguettes are usually baked perfectly and are around 20p if you go for a sandwich one. Utter bliss.

Morrisons - Delish but more expensive than Lidl (think its 40p)

Sainsburys - They're alright, baguettes tend to be a bit thicker than Lidl but quality is not as good. Recipe is a bit iffy but tend to be alright (think its 40-55p).

Tesco - Always a disappointment, had to go for a tiger baguette many a time and its not the same. Their recipe also doesn't work as well so regular baguettes can be used as a club on occassion. Should be cheaper than what it is.

Marks and Spencer - Rip-off, maybe go there if you're wanting to impress people.

Waitrose - See above.

Aldi - Never tried, seems like a betrayal to Lidl.
