A Working Class Composer Trying to be Passionate without Posh People Thinking He's Angry

Picture
There's a weird tension you have when you’re working-class and trying to get a point across to posh people.

You feel like you have the risk of what you are saying being dismissed because they feel you are being aggressive or angry when all you are being is passionate about whatever you are talking about. You feel like you have to stand outside yourself and hold yourself back so as to avoid being dismissed because you look like a stereotype. But passion and anger can be very similar. And sometimes your passion has a piece of anger behind it.

This is a piece about this tension.
